Thursday, June 16.
Went to Carribelle, anchored in the river behind a sandbar. Nice convenient town, there is a nice grocery store and Laundromat
near the water. Lots of new houses and condos being built.
Friday, June 17.
Went to Apalatchicola. Nice calm day. Not too much boat traffic. Anchored over sandbar near Scipio creek entrance. Nice
historic town, lots of gift shops and restaurants. Apalatchicola is one of the "don't miss" historic Florida towns. I will
spend the weekend here, since I know some people in town. Got 23 gallons gas.

Apalatchicola (mile 351) to Panama City (mile 290). The eastern part of this stretch is one of the most scenic, almost
no development. Nice cyprus swamps and marshes. Anchored in Smack Bayou, just across from downtown Panama City. Nice quiet
harbor, except for the military jets. A bit of rain after anchoring.

To Ft Walton Beach (mile 222) Nice calm day. Went through long canal, called the "grand Canyon". Choctawhachee Bay was
nice and calm. It can get bouncy in a breeze, since it is a big bay. Almost no boat traffic early, then quite a bit near Ft
Walton Beach. Anchored near city park in Ft Walton Beach, a short walk to a Publix store.

To Big Lagoon, just west of Pensacola (mile 178) . Got 22 gallons gas at Ft Walton Beach, since I didn’t know what
marinas west of there were open. Lots of hurricane damaged homes along the waterway. Nice and calm day. Anchored in great
spot in Big Lagoon by great empty beach. This is one of my favorite stops.
