Okeechobee Waterway

6/17/03  To mile 127 Okeechobee.  Anchored in side channel near power plant.  Nice day, rained late afternoon.  Light pleasure boat traffic.

6/18  To mile 103, LaBelle.  Light rain early, then mostly cloudy.  Tied up to LaBelle city dock, free for up to 3 days. Had to use Medetarainian Moor, interesting feat singlehanded, but no problem.

6/19  To mile 60.  Anchored in small cove off rim canal-saw big alligator swimming near shore, decided not to go swiming.  Lots of dead Austrailian Pine trees, apperently the Corps of Engineers is trying to get rid of non-native vegitation.  Rained early afternoon, sprinkled on and off rest of day.

6/20 To mile 5, Stuart.  $8.00 a night for a mooring, includes dinghy dock and showers.  Rained nice and hard just after leaving lock, then again after anchoring.  Saw 2 more gators swimming.
